PriceTank is not a fuel supplier and does not sell heating oil directly. We are an independent comparison service. We do not take orders, hold fuel stock, or process payments for fuel purchases.
PriceTank is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Heating oil is a commodity, not a financial product, and this service does not constitute financial advice.
This is the most important section of these terms for most users. Please read it carefully.

They are intended to give you a general sense of the current market and to help you identify which suppliers may offer competitive prices in your area.
A price shown on PriceTank is not a confirmed quote and is not a binding offer from any supplier. Prices are subject to change at any time without notice. The price you are quoted when you contact a supplier directly may differ from any figure shown on this site.
Heating oil prices are highly localised. The price you are actually quoted by a supplier will depend on your specific postcode, the volume you are ordering, your delivery access (tanker size required), and the supplier's capacity on your requested delivery date. National average prices shown on this site are derived from published supplier data and are a market indicator only.
Before placing any order, you must obtain a confirmed quote directly from the supplier. We strongly recommend that you:
PriceTank accepts no liability for any loss arising from a difference between a price shown on this site and the price actually charged by a supplier.
Prices displayed on PriceTank are labelled so that you can tell what each one is. A price marked Live price is one for which PriceTank holds recent pricing evidence for that specific supplier. It is a close indication of what that supplier is currently charging, not a confirmed or binding quotation and not a guarantee of availability. A price marked Indicative price is shown from a recent national benchmark because we do not hold that supplier's own current evidence. National reference prices are market benchmarks, not supplier quotes. Our How our prices work page explains each label in full.
When you submit a commercial fuel enquiry through PriceTank, you are authorising us to share your contact details and requirements with commercial fuel suppliers relevant to your enquiry. We are not a party to any contract between you and a supplier. Any contract is formed directly between you and the supplier.
We do not guarantee that you will receive a response from any supplier, that any supplier can meet your requirements, or that any quoted price will remain available. Commercial fuel pricing is subject to significant variation based on volume, location, and market conditions.
Price alerts are provided as a free service. Alert thresholds are compared against indicative market average prices. They are not compared against confirmed supplier quotes for your specific postcode. Receiving a price alert does not guarantee that any supplier will quote you at or below your target price for your specific delivery.
We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue the price alert service at any time without notice. We will endeavour to notify registered alert users if the service is being permanently discontinued.
Nothing on PriceTank constitutes advice to buy or not buy heating oil at any particular time, from any particular supplier, or in any particular quantity. The market outlook, forecast ranges, volatility reading, daily market brief, buying guides and the buy now or wait signal are general information only. Not financial advice. Prices can rise or fall. Not a guarantee of future prices.
The outlook is calculated from public price history and fixed rules, and the commentary is automated: it is written by an artificial intelligence model from public market data and is not reviewed by a person before it appears. The model does not set the direction, the forecast ranges or the buy or wait signal. The outlook is based on a UK national reference price. It is not a prediction for your postcode or for any supplier. The buy now or wait signal follows a fixed rule applied to the tank figures you enter and the national outlook; those figures are used only to produce the answer and are not stored by the tool.
Decisions about when and how much heating oil to purchase are entirely your own. PriceTank accepts no liability for any loss arising from a decision made in reliance on information provided by this site.
PriceTank does not currently receive referral fees or commissions from domestic heating oil suppliers when you click through to a supplier's website or complete a purchase. There is currently no paid supplier placement. No supplier pays to appear on this site or to affect where it appears in the results.
Suppliers are ranked by price. Where we hold a price for your postcode and volume, the cheapest is shown first. Suppliers cannot pay to improve their ranking.
If we introduce referral fees, commissions, paid placement or any other commercial relationship with suppliers in future, we will say so clearly on this page and on the results themselves before it takes effect.
